Winter Crafts for Preschoolers

Winter Crafts for Preschoolers

Are you looking for some fun crafts for your preschool students this winter? The temperatures are dropping, which means winter is on its way. Depending on where you live, you might spend a bit more time inside, which means it's the perfect opportunity to explore fun arts and crafts projects!
The colder months offer great themes like Decking the Halls for the holiday season, Arctic Animals, Gingerbread and Sweet Treats, and even our favorite hibernating friends, The Woodland Animals! Below you can find an extensive list of some favorite crafts during the winter season. Winter offers a chance to explore different textures like snow and ice. It’s always a great way to help preschoolers learn about winter's fun aspects.

Christmas Crafts

Christmas and holiday crafting is so much for little learners. Whether it's making Santa crafts or creating the perfect gift for friends and family. Winter isn't complete without a few Christmas crafts, below are a few of our favorites. A Deck the Halls theme is filled with fun ideas for the holiday season.

Pine Cone Christmas Tree Tutorial

While it would be so fun to decorate a giant Christmas tree in the classroom, that's not always an option. But this pinecone decorating activity is a close second. It is fun for preschoolers and an excellent opportunity to build fine motor skills through twisting and twirling ribbons!

Paint with Wind-Straw Painting

The wind tends to be a bit windier during winter, causing the snow to blow all over the place. This is a great opportunity to teach your preschoolers about wind's effects and give them a chance to make wind themselves. Straw painting is a fun way to make a unique picture while learning about the movement of the wind.

There are so many opportunities to extend on a gingerbread theme from making cookies to building houses. There are also a ton of great books out there that your preschoolers will love.
