Begin by cutting hearts from various shades of red and pink card stock. You will need 2 hearts of the same size for each suncatcher.
Then, have an adult carefully insert scissors in the center of the hearts and cut out the inside of the heart, leaving at least a ½” inch border.
Now, tear a sheet of press n seal wrap. You could also use clear contact paper instead.
Press the hearts into the wrap.
Trim all the excess wrap from around the hearts. Make sure your scissors are clean or they may stick, making it difficult to cut.
Next, cut or tear a bunch of squares of tissue paper, your preschooler will love this step!
Press the tissue paper into the wrap in the center of the heart.
As preschoolers choose colors talk about patterns and design.
Once finished applying the tissue paper, glue around the border of the other heart and position over the tissue paper, sealing in place.
Display in a Well-lit Space
Continue with more hearts with more fun colors of tissue paper. Hold against the window to watch how the light makes the colors glow!
