My Family and Home
Family and home life are so important for preschoolers, which is why we must include this theme in the classroom. For many students, this might be the first time they are away from their families. But, when we create an opportunity to talk, learn and do fun activities that celebrate our family, it fosters the feeling of safety and love. Here are a few of my favorite ways to bring family into the classroom!
Turkeys and Thanksgiving
One of the best parts about fall is Thanksgiving. It's a time where we express what we are thankful for, enjoy time with family, learn all about turkeys, and enjoy delicious food. Thanksgiving themes are packed with so many fun activities. Check out a few of our most favorite below.
Your students will love learning and celebrating The Festival of Lights. Check out this activity set that includes meaningful and engaging ways to teach young preschoolers about traditions related to this joy filled holiday!
Game and Puzzle Week
The entire week of Thanksgiving we are celebrating being thankful but it's also National Game and Puzzle week. It's the perfect time to play your favorite game and learn some new ones. Games are great for learning, having fun and working on team-building skills. Grab a deck of cards and explore all the different card games you can play with your preschoolers.
Child Safety Protection Month
Did you know November is Child Safety Protection Month? This serves as an excellent opportunity to talk with our preschoolers about important topics like water safety, fire safety, being safe outdoors, and staying healthy. This month serves as an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about childhood safety!
Winter Clothes and Staying Warm
November is a fun month filled with vibrant colors and holidays, but it also means the weather is starting to get a bit colder! All the animals are beginning to prepare for winter, and so are we. As the temperatures start to drop, it is a great time to talk to your preschoolers about the type of clothes we wear in the winter and how we can stay warm. Prepare for winter with some fun activities, and our favorite winter clothes books.
