July is filled with fun holidays and celebrations that your preschoolers will love and plenty of opportunities for play, crafts, and outdoor exploring.
This month is a great time for your preschoolers to learn about picnics, celebrate Fourth of July, camping, have fun with ocean animals, and dive into outer space. These themes allow for hands-on exploration and learning for your preschoolers!
Summertime is a great time to pack a basket of your favorite snacks and head to a local park for a picnic. Invite your preschoolers to make their own picnic table cloth. Picnics are a great time to eat watermelon and a fun time to explore those little guys who like to join in on the picnic- ants!

Fourth of July
Fireworks, and the red, white, and blue. Preschoolers love the celebrations, picnics, and parties associated with the Fourth of July! It's also a great opportunity to teach preschoolers about the importance of this holiday and celebrating the Fourth of July.
Do your preschoolers ask questions about the sun, the moon, and the stars? Even as adults there is so much unknown and wonder about outer space! This is a fun summer theme because of the clear skies and the ability to go outside at night to gaze!

Summer is a great time to head to the beach. If there are no beach trips in your summer plans, it's still a great time to dive deeper into an ocean theme. There are so many plants, animals, and wildlife to explore in this theme, as the ocean is a fascinating place. Preschoolers love water and sea animals, so this theme will keep your preschoolers more than entertained this summer! Get your preschoolers moving and grooving like the sea animals with a set of free movement cards, perfect for large group time!
Camping is a summertime staple in many families. It's also always a huge hit when we bring a camping theme into the classroom. There is an extensive list of activities and topics you can learn about related to camping. Preschoolers also love a classroom transformation, so if you're able to bring a tent indoors then you're on track for the best summer ever! A camping dramatic theme pack makes it easy to turn your classroom into a campground. Fishing in the sensory table or a small pool is always a hit with preschoolers, too! Canada Day is July 1st and even if you don't live in Canada it's a great opportunity to teach your classroom about different traditions and celebrations throughout the world. These activities are perfect for celebrating Canada Day in your classrooms.
Amelia Earhart Day
July 24th is Amelia Earhart Day! This is a day where we can celebrate and honor the achievements she made in aviation as the first female pilot. Amelia's contributions made a big huge impact on our lives today. Celebrate Amelia Earhart by pretending to take flight with your own airport dramatic play center!
National Chocolate Day
National Chocolate Day is July 7th, not that we need a reason to eat a piece of yummy chocolate, but today is the perfect day! Celebrate this holiday by makingchocolate oobleck with your preschoolers or bring in some Hershey kisses and have your kids do measurement activities with them. Teaching preschoolers about fun and unique holidays adds a fun new spin on educational activities.
