Setting up your News Station
When setting up your News Station Dramatic Play Pack it's important to give your students ownership of their play. If possible set up some anchor pieces* , and provide them with a prop box of items (but avoid "setting" up the space for them entirely). Let them use their creativity wherever possible (create your own props or pretend using something similar).
Suggested Props for your News Station:
Try your hand at creating pretend cameras out of recycling materials, this one is so fun! Such a creative used of materials, the bottle caps as buttons, paper tube and flashlight for a scope and plastic cup on the front for a lens are all incredible details! Kids could have fun creating their own individual cameras, too.
Set the Scene
Set the scene with the included signs and posters.
These fun signs are also a great way to support literacy development.
A Special Place for the Meteorologist
Preschoolers are learning all about the weather and the impact it has on our daily lives. Set up a board for your Meteorologists to refer to when announcing the weather!
Let the space grow and evolve with your students during the week!
Check in: ask your students to ask if there is anything they need for their space.
