Make Your Own Galaxy Dough
Are you ready to take your preschool space theme to the next galaxy? This easy-to-make play-dough will have your preschoolers over the moon excited with its sparkle and shine! You only need a few simple ingredients, and this tutorial, to make an out-of-this-world play-dough.
Play-dough is a staple in the preschool classroom, and it's even more fun when you try new recipes and include your preschoolers in the process. We love giving educators fun recipes and DIY tutorials for all their favorite preschool themes! A space theme is one of our favorites, and galaxy dough makes the perfect addition.
Teacher Tip: Have everything measured out before making the play-dough with your students. This is also an excellent opportunity to do a color mixing lesson or have preschoolers predict what colors they will make.
Let's Get Started!
Start by combining all the measured dry ingredients in the bowl.
Stir in oil, water, and chosen food coloring. Add as many drops of color as needed to reach your desired color.
Once combined, add in different glitter colors. Then knead with your hands until play-dough consistency is reached. Kneading is a great step for preschoolers to work their tiny muscles for building up their fine motor skills. Encourage them to stretch and squeeze to help firm up the play-dough!
Once you have reached the consistency you'd like, it's time to add some fun space themed accessories!
Toy astronauts or glow-in-the-dark stars are a great addition to this dough.
When your done playing make sure to store in airtight container or a plastic bag works well, too!
We hope your preschoolers have a blast making galaxy dough!
