How assessments can help:
This preschool assessment binder provides you with the pages you'll need to conduct informal assessments (natural observations, collect work samples, collect data, etc.) as well as direct assessments (through questionnaires and the use of printable assessment activities targeting specific standards).
The observation form that has been included has been designed for you to casually observe children (without intruding as they play). Use it to record anecdotal notes such as individual students skills, attitudes, and behaviors as they relate to the learning outcomes. At the beginning of the year you can use the "quick assessment form" and coordinating direct assessment activities to easily assess and gather baseline data for each student.
Whether you are childcare provider, or parent homeschooling a preschool aged child: assessments serve many important purposes.
They will help you: 1. Determine how your preschooler is growing in key developmental areas 2. Identify potential problems in development, and indicate areas that children need may need additional support. 3. Evaluate if the curriculum you are using is meeting the needs of the children in your program. What do I assess my preschooler on?
This product has been aligned to our own Pre-K Printable Fun early learning standards. These early learning standards have been developed based on the research and study of common preschool (ages 3-5 not yet in Kindergarten) learning domains accepted across many individual U.S States. They are also what we use as our guide to design our products!.
Our standards contain over 50 preschool early learning outcomes spanning the following 8 developmental domains: Social Emotional, Approaches to Learning, Physical Development, Language & Literacy, Mathematics, Science & Discovery, Social Studies, and Art & Creativity.
Are you required to use a specific set of learning standards for your assessments? I've included a blank assessment pages for you to input your own standards, as well as a link to a google slides file where you can easily add your own digital text boxes.
