Role Playing in the Diner
Learn about the different roles there are to play in the diner. These included signs can help children organize their play and ensure everyone has a role to play.
A Variety of Signs
Choose from a variety of signs that best fit your invitation to play. Adding signs to the dramatic play invitation helps support play and supports literacy development.
Take an order
Customers read their menu and decide which items they want to order. Menus come in two different sizes, with or without prices, and in two different styles. Pick which menus work best with your diner participants.
Get cookin'
Every diner needs a great chef!
Use the guest check as a checklist to create a meal for the customer. Order Up!
The waiter serves the meal to the customer. It's so fun to see children take on all the different roles and mimic what they have seen in a real restaurant.
There are also two different sizes of guest checks included. Children can use these props regardless of their developmental level. Older preschoolers will enjoy writing in numbers and recognizing letters on the menu. Younger preschoolers can benefit from scribbling on the guest check and reading the pictures on the menu.
