The book Rainbow Crow is a Native American Myth retold by Nancy Van Laan and illustrated by Beatriz Vidal. Although the Authors cites that she Nheard the story from a Lenape Elder, Bill Thompson and obtained permission to retell in this beautifully illustrated book, The Lenape-Nanticoke Museum disputes this claim. Instead, they attribute this myth to a modification of a Cherokee story known as “The First Fire“ by James Mooney. Learn more about the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania here.
