Confetti Writing Tray for Preschoolers
Confetti Writing Tray for Preschool
Ring in the New Year with a confetti writing tray to help preschoolers develop necessary pre-writing skills! Preschoolers don't have to make it until midnight to celebrate New Years! They can enjoy all the festivities with fun hands-on activities. And, nothing says New Year like a handful of confetti!
Writing trays are super simple to set up and allow preschoolers to build the necessary pre-writing skills without the added pressure of tracing or holding a utensil. Writing trays include a tactile sensory experience while focusing on letter formation with a play-based approach. A confetti tray requires little prep but adds so much fun to your New Year's plans!
You will need:
Writing Tray Setup:
Start by layering your confetti onto the tray you will be using. We used a placemat which made for super easy cleanup but any type of shallow surface works.
Next, demonstrate how to use the noise maker as a writing utensils so preschoolers have a better understanding of how to hold and use the noisemaker for writing.
When it comes to writing trays, you can use an invitation to play approach where preschoolers can choose to write, or draw whatever they would like inside of a writing tray. Or, you can provide them with letter cards or number cards to use as a reference. You can grab a list of numbers 1-10 from our New Years Activity pack if you are having preschoolers practice number writing.
The best part about writing trays is that you can differentiate them based on the different needs of each of your students. Confetti writing trays are a fun and creative way to ring in the New Year!
