Pond Life
If you are lucky enough to have a pond near you, now is a great time to visit. Learn more about frogs, and other creatures in a pond. If you are lucky you might be able to touch cattails, or see lily pads floating on the water. I trip to the pond wouldn't be complete without a chance to feed the ducks.

Insects
You could easily spend a whole month learning just about insects! Exploring caterpillars and butterflies this month is a fun way to observe the life cycle in action.

The Park in the spring
If you visit the park in spring you might be lucky enough to see buds in the trees, kids flying kites, roller skating, or riding bikes. A trip to the park wouldn't be complete without packing a picnic lunch-watch out for the ants!

What to wear in the spring
Introduce your preschooler to some new spring vocabulary related to spring clothes, and accessories. This season it will be important to know about raincoats, rain boots, mud suits, and umbrellas. If you are lucky, you'll also be able to explore sandals, dresses, and t-shirts.

Spring Weather
Oh the ever changing spring weather really keeps the meteorologists on their toes. Spring is a good time to explore clouds, wind, and rain. It's also a great time to explore rainbows, and thunder.

Bubbles and Chalk
Spring is a great time to bring out the bubbles and chalk. Use different recycled materials to make your own bubbles. Sidewalk chalk is fun to use in the spring. Make your own spring murals for the neighbors to see.

Puddles and Mud
Naturally, with all of the spring rain, there are plenty of puddles to splash in. From mud puddles to baking mud pies in your mud kitchen, there is plenty of messy glorious fun to be hard outside this season.

Farmer's Market
The local Farmer's Markets are starting to re-open in the spring. Visit yours to learn more about how food is grown on farms, before arriving to our table. Be sure to spend some time talking to your local farmers. If you don't have a chance to visit your own local farmer's market, you can try your hand at setting up your own.

Spring Cleaning
Spring is a great time to tidy our homes. Preschoolers love helping around the house. There are plenty of spring cleaning chores for them to help with like sweeping, washing the dished and dusting. Don't forget the outside chores! Wash the car, and mow the lawn. Your preschooler will learn new words like sponge, broom, and mop. Teach your preschooler about donating to others by gathering your unused items and dropping them off at your local donation center. Another option, is having a garage sale, and donating your earnings to a favorite charity.

Take Care of the Earth
With Earth Day and Arbor Day happening in the month of April, it's a great time to spend some extra time taking care of our earth this month, and talking about important topics like recycling, and conservation. This is a great season to go on a litter walk, and plant a tree.
