Mitten Pattern MatchThese children have lost their mittens! Examine the pattern on the mittens and match to the child with the same mitten. Winter Clothes Patterning Which Sweater Doesn't Belong? Examine each row of sweaters to find the one that doesn't belong, find the matching sweater piece and place it at the end. Snowball Shape Clip Cards These little mittens each have a different shaped snowball. Identify the shape then clip at the bottom of the card to practice shape recognition and fine motor development. Hanging Mittens Counting Mats 1-10After playing in the snow it's important to hang your mittens out to dry! Practice number recognition and cardinality with this fun counting mat. Mitten Counting Mats with FramesThis version of the counting mats includes a ten frame for supporting early math development. Pair these with your own fun manipulatives such as these white sparkly pom poms to represent snowballs. Winter Clothes Count and Clip CardWinter gear sure seems to multiply! Coat and Button Color MatchThis is a fun matching game for preschoolers to practice color recognition and sorting skills. **Teacher Tip: Older preschoolers may enjoy using real buttons, provide a variety of sizes for each coordinating color for them to sort by size as well. Fireplace Number Mats Preschoolers can practice counting with one-to-one correspondence as they count up the number of logs in the stack under each fire. Then they can match-up the fire with the same number represented as a ten frame or the flame number. Spin and Color Numbers Quilt Game This game is such a fun way to support children learning all about colors and numbers. Packing for Hot & Cold Climates I think just about every preschooler I have ever met wants to wear their snow boots in summer and shorts in winter! Preferred style aside, preschoolers are learning to identify what clothing is appropriate for each type of weather. Use this activity to support their learning and perhaps encourage proper attire for the weather.
