Paint the empty box to cover any existing design, let dry completely.
When the box is completely dry, use markers to decorate as desired.
Next stick on the craft hearts.
To make the love bug - cut one black circle and one red circle from the construction
paper. This lesson is a great time to talk about shapes. What shape would you like your bug's body to be? What color? What shape do you want to use for the wings...eyes?
Provide plastic templates for children to use to create shapes as desired.
Cut the red circle in half and position both pieces as shown on the black circle to form
Your preschooler may wish to make their love bug in different shapes and colors, provide a variety of colors to encourage creativity.
Use the white marker to make two circles for the eyes, then use the black marker to
make a pupil in the center of the white circle. Alternatively buttons or googly eyes can be used.
Use the black marker to make hearts and dots on the red wings.
Glue the love bug on the box
