As your students find fall leaves, they can use this free leaf specimen worksheet to record and document their specimens. This activity helps young children start to identify different characteristics of living objects. Many discussions can be had about the changing seasons, as well as the similarities of their specimens they have collected.

With this activity young children can:

Draw a picture of (or glue on) their leaf specimen
Record the color of their leaf
Record the size of their leaf
Describe why they "Like" their leaf
