Cyanotype printing is a fun activity for preschoolers to do outdoors. For this activity you will need Sun Art Paper Kit or similar product. You will also need a tray of some kind and objects to make prints of.
Provide a variety of materials for the children to choose from. You can have them select random objects from around the house/classroom, items found in nature, or a selection based on a theme your are studying.
This kiddo chose plastic bugs, shells, and glass gems for their print.
Place in the Sun
Place the print in the sun and wait for the magic to happen.
Once the print has been out for about 15 minutes, remove the objects and marvel at the results!
Rinse to Set
Once your printing is complete, rinse the paper in water to set the print then allow to dry.
The completed prints are certainly display worthy!
