This sensory exploration is a great invitation for encouraging literacy skills in preschoolers.
Easily set up this tray using my printables and some simple low cost materials.
For this activity you might consider printing on heavy cardstock or laminating the letter cards for durability.
Carefully cut out each letter card and set aside.
Fill the tray with “snow”, we used craft snow. You could also try salt, rice, or coconut.
Place any letter card on or next to the tray to use as a guide
Use your finger the trace or duplicate the letter shapes. This is a fun way for children to practice forming shapes when they are not yet ready to write with a pencil.
