Snake Color Matching Puzzles

Preschoolers can practice matching colors by putting together these snake color puzzles. 

Snake Scales Match-up

The study of snakes provides an excellent opportunity to talk about patterns! This fun activity will open up the discussion about the importance of snake designs, colors, and patterns! ​

Snake Uppercase-Lowercase Match-up

Being able to identify letters in both uppercase and lowercase form is an important learning outcome for pre-k to kindergarten kiddos. This fun snake themed activity keeps them engaged as they try to match baby snakes to mama snakes. 

Snake Count and Clip Cards

Practice counting and number recognition with Snake Count and Clip Cards. Pair these cards with clothespins to give little hands a big workout. 

Snake Counting Mat

This Snake Counting Mat is a fun way to practice number recognition and counting skills. Children flip a snake number card, then add the same number egg counters to the mat. 

Snake Number Puzzle

This puzzle is a hands-on way to encourage children in number recognition and ordering as well as problem-solving. 

Snake Roll & Color Game

Snake Size Sorting

Pair this printable snake and rolling cube with crayons to play this game. Roll the cube, then color in  a circle with the same color crayon. 
Extension idea: After completing the snake count up how many times each color was used, compare the data. Do this activity with an adult or peer. You can either take turns rolling and coloring, or roll and color your own and compare once complete. 

Safely sort snakes by size with this activity. Preschoolers are learning to order by size, this activity encourages preschoolers to make comparisons and order by size. 

Snake Life Cycle

Explore the life cycle of snakes! The LIfe Cycle of a Cobra activity is great as a cut and paste activity for fine motor development, or use as a poster in your classroom! This activity can open the discussion for how snakes are born and for more research! Have books about snakes available and support research for which snakes lay eggs and which have live births. ​

Snake Patterning

Learning about snakes is a fantastic opportunity to talk about patterning. In this activity preschoolers are practicing AB, AAB, and ABC patterns. 
Extension: Challenge your preschooler to sort plastic snakes based on patterns. 

I Can Label A Rattlesnake

Learn about the parts of a rattlesnake! This activity compliments a discussion about snake safety. 

Snake Measuring Mats

Snakes come in all sizes! Break out the ruler, measuring tape, or unifix cubes to measure the snakes on these measuring cards. 
Extension: Older preschoolers can order the snakes from shortest to longest. 

Rattlesnake Shape Clip Cards

Identify the rattler shape on each snake, then clip the matching shape at the bottom of the card with a clothespin.
