When engaging in this experiment keep in mind the development and safety of your preschooler. Some of these steps will be better for the adult to do while the student observes, this also gives them a wonderful opportunity to make predictions and note the changes happening.
Pour peroxide in bottle, invite your preschooler to examine the ingredients at each step of the process. Ask them what they notice at each step, leave plenty of room for discussion and predictions.
Add in dish liquid and food color, swish around until mixed together.
Try other colors too!
In a small bowl or cup mix yeast and warm water and allow to sit for 30 seconds.
Dissolve is a great 50-cent word to introduce during this stage.
Use a funnel to add yeast mixture to the bottle and watch the magic happen!
Be prepared to do this experiment again and again.
