Step 1: Assembly
Begin by evenly lining up seven regular size popsicle sticks. This is a great opportunity to have your preschoolers pay close attention and use their eye for measuring!
Adults: Using a hot glue gun, run a line of hot glue the entire length of a small popsicle stick & press it horizontally onto one end of the 7 sticks - repeat this step on the other end as well. Remind preschoolers of the importance of being safe around a hot glue gun.
Step 3: Painting
Paint the hat section (upper ⅓) and one full stick with a solid coat of paint, let dry.
Flip the board over and run an angled line of hot glue near the top of the board and apply a regular size stick at an angle to form the brim of the hat .
Step 4: Decorate
Paint the face section (lower ⅔) of the Leprechaun with a solid coat of paint, let dry.
Use glue to attach the eyes just below the brim of the hat.
With the black marker, draw on the nose & mouth
Use a paint brush to lightly tap on hair and beard, let dry
To decorate the hat brim, glue on the pipe cleaner in any design/pattern you like or use other craft decorations of your choice
Your Leprechaun is now complete. All of your leprechauns will be uniquely crafted and created.
