Fill each plastic egg with about a tablespoon of rice, beans, etc. It would be fun to do several with different materials, then invite children to listen for the differences in each.
Close the eggs tightly and use tape to seal the seam closed
Place the egg small side up between the 2 plastic utensils as shown and tape in place at top and on utensil handles to hold it all together securely
Cut and 8 inch square piece of tissue paper.
Place the maraca upside down in the middle of the back of the tissue paper.
Lift the corners up and gather tissue paper together at the base of the maraca.
Use the pipe cleaners to secure the tissue paper and make the handles as shown.
Simply start at the base and wrap them all the way down to the end - you will need about 4 pipe cleaners per maraca.
Your instrument is now ready to use, have fun and make beautiful music!
