Today I'm sharing a fun, low cost, fish bowl math one-to-one correspondence activity you can make for under $3! The Dollar Tree is one of my Favorite places to purchase items for DIY Educational Games, but it's quite possible you already have these items around the house or classroom already.
Fish bowl Number Correspondence Activity
One to One Number Correspondence is an important skill for your preschooler. This beginning math game focuses on learning to count to 5, although it can easily be differentiated for children who have mastered this skill (see my variations section for ideas).
Supplies you will need
For this game you will need:
1. Fish bowl Decor Sheets (found in the teacher supply section of the Dollar Tree)
2. White or Blue Pom Poms (Craft Section of the Dollar Tree)
3. Permanent Marker: I already had this at home, but they do sell them at the Dollar Tree (Office Supply Section).
4. Plastic Tweezers (Optional): Tweezers add an additional fine motor component to the activity, I already own a pair, but they can also be found in the teacher supply section.
Step 1. Take out 5 Fish bowl Sheets
Step 2 . Number the Sheets 1-5 with your Marker
Step 3. (Optional) Laminate Sheets for durability
Directions for Play:
Place the fish bowl sheets on the table and provide your child 10 pom pom "Bubbles". Children place the corresponding number of Pom-Pom "Bubbles" on each sheet.
Although this activity uses the fishbowl sheets you can often find a variety of these types of decor sheets to vary the activities you create! Did you make this activity? Or have you made a low cost learning activity? I'd love to hear about it in the comments-or have you share it in our FB group!
