Take a Peek Inside...
I Can trace Shapes
Use a dry-erase marker to practice tracing shapes. The beauty of using laminated or in page protectors is that children can reuse again and again!
*Teacher Tip: Use a binder pencil pouch to store the dry-erase markers and a cloth for erasing.
Practice Beginning Sounds
Identify items under the ocean and the letter they start with.
Challenge your preschooler to find the letters in their name and mark with another color marker.
I Can Find Colors
Match-up colors on this page by drawing a line from the pearl to the clam of the same color.
Also included: a more advanced version with black & white clams which challenges children to match the colored pearls to the matching color word.
*Teacher Tip: Extend this activity by challenging your preschooler to find objects in the environment that match each color.
Time To Rhyme
Identify all the objects on the page, saying each out loud.
Then draw a line connecting each pair that rhymes.
I know Which Group has More
Challenge your preschooler to identify which group of fish is larger at a glance. This is good preparation for learning to subitize.
Learn to Follow a Line
Learn to follow lines from left to right. Use the dry-erase marker or place counters, like these mini erasers, along the line.
Learning to follow a line from left to right is an essential pre-reading skill.
The Summer Busy Binder is a great way to reinforce skills needed for the next school year and it's also a great resource to grab when preschoolers need some quiet time during the busy summer months!
