Preschool Science Dissolving Hearts
Setting up opportunities for scientific explorations is an important part of every preschooler's education.
This invitation is easy to set up and a fun addition to your Valentine's Day activities.
Time to Experiment!
In a bowl, mix baking soda and water until a paste consistency is reached. Your preschoolers will enjoy mixing up this concoction on their own!
Stir in red dye, or another color as desired.
Fill cookie cutters or mold halfway with mixture. You can also use silicone molds.
Place in freezer for 3 hours to set
Remove hearts from molds and place on a tray or in a clear glass
Pour vinegar over the hearts and watch them melt! Encourage your preschoolers to observe the changes as they gradually add the vinegar.
Mixing up vinegar and baking soda is always a hit. There are many ways to incorporate this experiment into any theme!
