Clifford at the Circus Free Pre-K Book Companion + Clown CraftYour preschoolers will love making this pasta hair crown craft, and it's easy to set up with our tutorial and free printable clown hair craft mat. Pair this fun sensory creative activity with a book about the circus, Clifford at the Circus by Norman Bridwell. This Clown Hair craft can be done with or without the other activities in our Pre-K book companion, see the recipe below. The Book Companion As much as preschoolers already love Clifford the Big Red Dog, a story about him visiting the circus is bound to be a big hit. Our Clifford at the Circus Pre-K Book Companion includes a variety of suggestions and activities to guide learning. Asking questions about the book before reading is a good strategy for engagement. Invite your preschoolers to examine the cover of the book and ask open-ended questions. Each of our Pre-K Book Companions includes suggested questions to ask before reading. We have also included questions to ask during reading! This is a great way to sustain engagement and get kids thinking. After Reading Review After reading a book to preschoolers asking follow-up questions and reviewing key vocabulary words from the book supports them in learning to recall information, and develop receptive and expressive language. There is also Book Review included for preschoolers to complete. Invite them to share their book review with peers and family. If completing this activity in a small group consider making a display of their book reviews for families to see. Next it's time for some hands-on fun!
