Catch a butterfly counting cards

Pair these counting mats with pom poms; preschoolers add pom poms to represent butterflies in each net.  Each card has the number represented in both numeral and number word form. 

Butterfly Counting Mats with frames

Ten frame mats are a great way to support children as they develop understanding of number recognition, counting, and subitizing. 

Bug jar counting practice 1-20

Flip a number card, identify the number, then add the same number of butterfly counters to the mat.  

Butterfly shape clip cards

Preschoolers love to point out when things aren't quite right...like these butterflies with silly shapes for wings! After the giggles subside invite your preschooler to identify the shapes on each card then clip the matching shape at the bottom of each card. 

Caterpillar color puzzles

When children assemble these colorful caterpillars they are working on color recognition, following from left to right, and color word recognition.

Roll the playing cube, then place the matching pieces onto the mat.

Practice matching uppercase and lowercase letters with this flip and find set. Simply print the desired mat and pair with the leaf letter cards. 

Find and Punch Letter Mat

Hole punchers are a fantastic workout for little hands! Flip a letter then punch a hole in the matching letter on the leaf 
*Be sure to have a good quality hole puncher for this activity, some can be very difficult for little hands. 
This activity can also be done with a marker. 

Count & Clip Cards

Count up the butterflies and caterpillars on each of the cards then clip the total at the bottom with a clothespin.
