Puppets are a lot of fun to play with and to make!
There are many different ways to make puppets, for this invitation the kids made paper bag dragon puppets!
For the Dragon Puppets we decided to make paper bag puppets. Here are some suggested materials to compliment this creative invitation:
In this invitation the kids planned to make dragons.
You may wish to start your invitation with a fun book related to your current theme as a source of inspiration.
As with any art project it's best to keep an open-mind and allow for creative expression. It could be your theme is Medieval Fantasy but your kids want to make cows! The experience of creating is the important part.
After adding some glitter glue for scales this artist decided to grab a paint brush and swirl the glue around. Truly a one of a kind dragon!
Each child chose a different approach for the different features of the dragon. One chose to glue the eyes directly to the bag, the other made a face from white paper. One used tissue paper for a single horn, the other colored white paper to make two different colored horns.
They both set out to make a dragon but each turned out very different!
One artist chose to add wings, the other did not.
This dragon has triangle wings cut from cardstock.
Two dragons using similar materials with different outcomes!
Once the puppets are dry children can share with peers and family and use to tell stories!
