The space you provide for Science should allow the children in your care to view, touch, record, and explore items from the world around them. As with many other learning spaces, the Science Space can be changed out to reflect the changing interests of the children in your care-or the different thematic topics you are inviting the children in your program to learn more about.
Busy boards allow Toddlers to explore otherwise "adult" items in a safe manner. Many of these busy boards contain items you find around your home such as locks, keys, and latches. Other types of busy boards include: Magnet Boards, Ball Runs, and Velcro boards. Your board can be made from existing toys such as puzzles, or busy boxes. Although many of the activities are mounted to the wall, they can also be made to use on the floor, or mounted to a table as well..
Below you will find some fabulous examples of DIY Busy boards that have been shared in our Daycare Spaces and Ideas Facebook Community.
