Each set, includes an addition mat, addend cards for adding sums up to 20, and sum cards 0-20.
Assembly and play is simple:
1.Print an addition mat of your choice.
2.Print 2 copies of the corresponding addend cards.
3.Print a copy of the sum cards.
4.Laminate (optional for durability) and cut out addend and sum cards
Directions for use:
Place a pile of addend cards, face down inside the first addend box. Place the second pile of addend cards, face down in the second addend box. Place the sum cards on the table, next to the mat. Provide the child math counters of your choice (manipulatives, mini erasers, pom poms etc.). Have your child flip over the 1st addend card, and place the correct amount of math counters on the mat below the addend card. Repeat this process for the second addend card. Have your child count the objects to find the sum.
Once they have counted the objects they can find the matching sum card to place it on the mat.
Advanced: Have your child practice “counting on” by using the number line to help them find the sum. Place your “counter” on the 1st addend, and practice counting up to the right.
