Fall Visual Discrimination Activity
Help preschool aged children build visual discrimination skills, as they practice recognizing details in common items found in the fall. Visual discrimination skills help young children spot subtle differences in photos and objects. Having strong visual discrimination skills are especially important as young children begin to sort out different letters, numbers, and shapes.
This 12-page .pdf file contains the following:
- 16-Fall Item Mats: Acorn, Leaf 1, Pumpkin, Leaf 2, Apple, Crow, Wreath, Squirrel, Chrysanthemum, Scarecrow, Pumpkin 2, Leaf 3, Leaf 4, Corn, Leaf 5, Gourd
- 16 coordinating magnified image cards
- TOS/Graphics Credit and Directions
Provide your child with a few of the magnifying mats and magnified images at a time. Your child will review the mats and magnified fall images. Once a match is found, the child places the matched fall image on top of the magnifying glass. Play continues until all 16 images have been matched.
Alternative play: Print 2 sets of school images cards and play similar to memory.
Extend the play by taking a look at school supplies with real magnifying glasses.
