Preschoolers appreciate jokes and humor, this fun book is a delight to read aloud and is sure to generate giggles from your audience.
Turkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano is a story about a Turkey who realizes he is destined to become the main course at Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey formulates a plan to disguise himself as other farm animals to avoid becoming the main dish for Thanksgiving.
Turkey runs into trouble when the other animals see right through his disguises and are quick to point out the flaws in his plan. He's too brown to be a sheep, too clean to be a pig...what's a turkey to do?? Not to worry, this clever turkey has plenty of tricks in his feathers.
Preschoolers will love to predict which animal Turkey will try to disguise himself as based on the clues given.
After the story, you can invite preschoolers to disguise a turkey of their own using my free black and white Turkey printable-which can be found inside in my Turkey & Thanksgiving Activity Pack or you can download a free copy here!
Invite children to brainstorm ideas about how they want to disguise their Turkey and consider what materials they will need.
