One of the main purposes of the housekeeping space is for young children to practice activities that happen around the home-including cleaning!
Kids love helping around the house, and they also love using real objects.
With a little bit of elbow grease, and some basic tools you have around the home you can easily create your own child sized mop (or broom) from a regular sized one at the dollar store for only $1.
You will need:
1.Pop the end cap off
2. Wrap a piece of masking tape (or painters tape) around the pole-where you want to cut (This will help prevent the paint from chipping off the pole).
3. Grab a hand Saw, and miter box (and an extra set of hands if you have them nearby) and cut.
4. Place the lid back on (or secure with hot-glue if necessary)
the perfect sized mop!
Now you have a Mop perfect for little hands!
