Insect 3-Part Cards
Nomenclature cards are a fun way for children to learn that print carries a message. Print off two sets of these cards, then separate the words from the pictures on one set. Children can then match the pictures and words.
Or use as a fun matching game using plastic insects.
Get those little brains working with this set of 8 buggy puzzles.
These are perfect for little ones beginning to master puzzles. Since they are straight edges preschoolers have to really look for the clues to find out which pieces go together. Some are easily mixed up if preschoolers are quick to just look for colors, they need to examine the parts of the insect to make sure they have it just right!
**Teacher Tip: This is an excellent opportunity to talk about the parts of an insect! "Do you see the thorax (abdomen, antennae, head)?" "Are all 6 legs present?" "How did you know those pieces went together?"
Ladybugs Count and Clip Cards
Does counting get any cuter than this? Count the number of ladybugs on the leaf, then clip the appropriate number. In this activity students are practicing one-to-one correspondence, numeral recognition, cardinality, and working on fine motor development.
Catch a Bug Shape Game
Practice shape recognition with this fun game. Preschoolers match-up bug shapes to the jar with the same shape.
