Now is the time to swing by the Dollar Tree for all your Fall items. It's been a while since I had a chance to pop into the Dollar Tree, We always decorate our house for Halloween, and I was excited to find some items for our "Haunted Castle Theme" this year. Thanksgiving items seem to be replaced by Christmas right after Halloween so don't delay if you are looking for your fall items.

You really can't beat a magnet set for a $1! Even if you make your own, magnet sheets can be outrageous. These Halloween magnets are so adorable! The Halloween Characters are fun (and not scary) even for the littles!
Our store had Fall Magnets as well, which are perfect for your Pumpkin or Fall Harvest themes. Our store always carries a large assortment of window clings as well. Kids seem to love these, and they are fun for building fine motor skills.
Our store had a fun assortment of Halloween one's as well.
Be sure to take a look at the costumes. Many of them won't stand up to long term use, but something like this Turtle Shell would be a fun addition to your Dramatic Play Space during Pond Week.
I couldn't resist not sharing these Witch's Brooms. I love to read the book Room on the Broom around Halloween time. This would make the perfect accessory. Using Room on the Broom Plush, or other stuffed animals you could have the Children place the animals on the broom and see if there is enough room. You could also use positional words to discuss who is first/last, in the front, or in the back etc. Find more ideas on the Room on the Broom Website.
I found these Mini Bowling sets in the Toy aisle. They could easily be turned into educational games, by drawing on Shapes, Colors, Letter, or numbers with permanent markers or labels.
My School aged kids always loved Magnet Dress Up Dolls. These are a fun find and come in a variety of sets. Add them to a metal lunchbox, or Tin for some portable fun.
They had plenty of creepy creatures for spooky sensory bins and counting practice this week. I've created a Free Spider Mat Printable to be used with these Dollar Store Spiders-Print it here.
These pumpkin ice cube trays are fun to create pom pom transfer (Orange Pom Pom "Pumpkins"), and Tweezer (Pumpkin Seeds) activities. They can also be used for a ton of educational ideas-check out my Pinterest Board here.
Do you have Children that are too young for pumpkin carving? Check out these "Design" a pumpkin Foam Stickers. Don't have pumpkins? No problem, cut out a large pumpkin shape or have the children paint a paper plate orange and add these faces.
