So much learning happens in the Block or Construction center in the classroom. This is a fun center where children can have fun while working on dexterity, fine motor skills, problem-solving, a variety of math and science skills, hand-eye-coordination, and creative expression.
Small world play provides many of the same educational benefits as dramatic play, but it can be created on a much smaller scale!
The small world play zoo invitation featured in this post, was created using our Zoo Dramatic Play Set, and combined with play animals, people, blocks, faux greenery, and natural materials.

The construction center, is often referred as the "block area"-It's a place for children to engineer new creations! In this area children are learning to manipulate new objects, and they are learning new math concepts such as size (Big & small), length, patterns and color. This learning space allows them to use their creativity to duplicate the world around them, it also provides them them social opportunities to cooperate and work together with their peers.
