Add small twigs, hay and Fabric scraps to your art area this week. Kiddos can create play dough scarecrows or glue to create their own designs. Make "black" play dough or buy it here, and add black feathers to your Open Art Area to allow the Children to create crows.
Explore Corn: Purchase different types of corn for children to explore with magnifying glasses. Add corn to the sensory table and practice "shucking". Use a corn base for your sensory table: Kernels, Popcorn, or Corn Meal
Explore crows: Since it's close to Halloween it's a great time to find pretend crows (Check out the Dollar Tree or your local craft store). Make sure to add books about crows to your science area as well.
Explore Scarecrows: Add Hay, Scraps of fabric and burlap to your Sensory Table.
Scarecrow bin created by community member Erica P. of Erica's Educare Learning Center. She added a variety of straw hats, black pom pom crows, raffia/hay, buttons, and plaid fabric scraps.
