Plan and prepare as much as possible ahead of time to ensure everything is set when the party starts. This will help things run smoothly and reduce stress. We have found through experience that Halloween parties with preschoolers work great when you have stations that they can rotate through. Here are some ideas that you can use as stations for your preschool Halloween party.
Get Dressed Up! Encourage guests to come in their favorite costume, or set up a Halloween Costume Shop so they can choose their own and change costumes throughout the party!

Move those bones!

Having plenty of physical activity ideas is necessary for a successful preschool party, kids are bound to be all wound up...put that energy to good use with these activity ideas!
Eyeball Spoon Race: Use plastic eyeballs (or small balls with eyeballs drawn on) and have the kids race while balancing them on spoons. This activity helps build coordination and adds a fun Halloween twist to a classic game.
Ghost Pumpkin Knockdown: This activity is easy to set up and so much fun! Plus great for physical development. Members: Download the instructions for this activity in our library here!

Mummy Wrap: Pair up the students and hand each team a roll of toilet paper. They can take turns wrapping each other up to transform into spooky mummies! It’s a fun and silly way to encourage teamwork.
Spider Count and Stack: Place straws into a ball of playdough. Students can roll a die and add that number of spider rings onto the straw. For younger preschoolers you can skip the die and simply let them place the spider rings on the straws for a fun activity that helps develop hand-eye coordination.
Witch Hat Ring Toss: Create witch hats using cones or make-shift hats, and let the kids toss rings (or glow stick bracelets) around the hats. It’s a simple but fun carnival-style game.

Pin the Hat on the Witch:  A Halloween twist on "Pin the Tail on the Donkey." Blindfold kids and let them try to pin a hat on a witch poster!
Skeleton Dance: Teach the kids the classic “Dem Bones” song and have them dance and move their bodies along with the skeleton parts mentioned in the song.
Spider Web Walk: Create a large web on the floor with tape or string and place some plastic spiders along the lines. Have the kids carefully walk along the web without stepping off or touching the spiders.
Monster Mash Freeze Dance: Play some spooky tunes and dance! When the music stops, the kids have to freeze like a Halloween character—maybe a mummy, ghost, or werewolf. Checkout this great playlist for your preschool halloween party!
